nicklaming referees (discussion , not dispute)

Whats the status on this? Is there any ongoing, private discussions on this topic, as it was raised as a legitimate concern earlier (though, all refs who replied to that thread ignored the topic - strange ? )

How can the community raise complaints on referees which are nicklaming (hence, its impossible for us to know who they are) ?

In my opinion , referees in general shouldnt nicklame. Indeed, lots of referees as well as normal players do, its a savage culture thing. I get it. But if a referee nicklame, they should reveal identity if asked (asked in a serious manner (common sense)) about their identity.

This is particular important when the community experience a referee which abuses clearly, and refuses to give up his usual/real name.

Its also a pretty good sign of un-wanted referees (i.e if trolls get hold of ref pwds (happened before)).

Refs should not use other names unless one of the following happens:

- When asked, they reveal who they are
- They do not use ref while under this other name
- Its already clear who they are

drk does this all the time, and drk is a complete arsehole with no personality who mutes and kicks willy-nilly. He's your main culprit here.

Jmz, can the reply you stated, be added to the rules for referees?

It seems to me to be a pretty good answer , with clear exceptions mentioned, and har d to misunderstand.

We can't easily add these to the rules as we try our best to keep the same ruleset as Groentjuh's (consistency).

I could mention it in our sticky maybe.

You can make changes to your rules. If consistency is what you seek you could start a discussion about this in this topic. That way we can be consistent and change rules.

bullet, its in Groentjuh's hands now.

We have been enforcing this rule since the start of pulse (though evidently not always), so it should have been in the rules long ago.

Add referees primary playing accounts to the ref list instead of having 1 PW - problem solved.
