 Old popular maps, where are they?

Here some maps which should be on server, maybe not in map rotation list, but available upon request. It is most popular maps well balanced and pro coms required, mostly with low stone and for small teams.
If somebody not agree with me I am open for discussion:)

yeah i agree with lolololo. did i just say that :O hahaha. we need more of thoes type of maps on the server. otherwise people will start going back to evo.

Meh.. I dont know any single map from that list... just these 2 .. omo_sep and omega2... and both sux hard. I'm not telling that it is bad idea but meh.. I dont want perma_omega_loaded. You know.. But nvm maplist update would be nice Smile

puchi3t is just 1 huge and long fragfest. To paths to the bases are to easy to defends. There were many discussions about that map in the past and that map was remove from the EvO server as well.

spookyfinal _really good map for about 15 ppls teams, dunno about xr_spooky_x, ve can leave both.

minix- great map for 5-15 players team, no in database? wow, I cant upload it...

puchi3t , omega2 type maps... great type maps , if it is so bad why it was so popular?Smile I am sure server need it.

japanese maps laggy? I will try to repare it in future.

Its very popular because ppl usually get easy kills on that maps. For example.. omo is clear camp arena.. same with omega and puchi3t + these 2 japanesee maps.. These are not maps which would have difficult terrain or any special props.. => flat terrain => farming and camping. Afaik these maps are only "popular" at fun/noob servers.. Not at pub.. cuz its not possible to have a normal game at un_normal map Razz Actually thats why they are nor NSL maps either. Wink Or at least i guess so Rolling Eyes

it is not popular at pub server becouse it just deleted Smile
lets community deside what they like to play, savage have good voting system.

it is strange for me to see : if map is popular, lets delete it, if map is poor- noone delete it...

I like at evos server , almost all existed maps is uploaded.

It is simple evolution: map popular- peoples play it, map not popular- noone even remember it.

for examle why no any 3,4 team map? it is really strange

and i not propose in my list such maps like tiny2_sep, where exist only one camp point...
for example omo_sep and omega_2 is strategic maps first of all, with many possible ways for commanders and many possible "hot" points.

Well, a good mapvoting system... not really!
The UT2004 mapvoting is way better then what savage has. That shows you all maps on the server and allows everybody to just pick that map he/she wants to play. That gives a list of wanted maps of which the map with it most votes wins.
In Savage you firstly do not really have a list of maps! You can call votes for the maps YOU know and if someone else votes a map, you only see the name of that map, no mini-map or something that shows you what are voting for.

They do not get deleted just because they are populair. Otherwise maps like losthills and bunker would have been deleted as well according to your statement.

Yeah they got deleted mainly because they did not fit into "fair_game" You know.. This coin has 2 sides Wink Btw rest of the maplist (except omega & omo + japanesee creatures) seems nice to me even tho I didnt really played most of it Smile

PS: Groentjuh.. is there any info (anywhere) about that how "nextmap" works? Because that vote loads mainly overplayed maps (bunker eden xroads heaven.. etc.) And I see that server has alot of other nice maps. Is it chosen randomly or somehow else? Smile

haha, sure Smile, but looks like they deleted because of popularity.
but my point what at least this "soso vote system" better then just deleted maps without any reason , reason for map removing can be laggs or too exploitable or really idiotic map... omo_sep topic it is example of reasons why map should NOT be deleted.
did you read topic about omo_sep map? it is sooo nooobish.... i even no have words to answer well to Trigatron, have only emotions, bad emotions Smile

did you try to download and upload minix?

fair or not fair game depends mostly of number of players at server(for example: sure it is stupid to play circleatack_sep map with 63 players... )
and rule 6 about siege camp, which make almost all maps unfair and disbalanced and summary: now we have only around 5 played maps ... but this number will go down Smile(read topic about omo_sep map)

I dont think that adding "nabfarming_failstupid_overplayed_but_famous" maps will help with anything. Mby you can increase the nubmer of played maps but yeh.. what about quality of game? Imo it's better to play some maps which has more than just flat terrain 1 flag and 2 hills to hide lair and SH.. You know what I mean? :/ Even tho.. some maps are famous for whatever reason .. there is no fairness in camping or fun in endless game.

not balanced maps no-one want to play, they never was popular.

I think it is natural, if after 2 hours long "coil/lighting camp and demorun 1000 meters, finally draw" map peoples want to play some "dead meat" type maps like omega2, and the opposite. but we no have this opportunities Sad

why we need to decrease a number of played maps?... mystery... for small teams we gave now only 3 maps......mean well balanced and interesting

If you want fair games :
1. setup svr_pure 1 (If 1, makes players not be able to use altered .s2z files) at all NSL servers and even here(anyway we have autoupdater for client, so only cheaters will fill this)
2. ask DJ to make not changeable client parameters like "objset scale" and others (lags and lowpingers already give us unpredictable battle, if everybody make this parameters what ever he want it start to be a completely random battle for not cheaters, and start a competition of hack skills instead savage skills)

(try to melee unnamed newbie,me or bobbe and somebody from FOX or WTO clan for example and you will fill real difference and will understand what I am talking about)

3. delete rule 6 about siege camp, so cheaters will die sometimes also and game become more strategic and fair.
4. not "deleting of maps" make games fair.....

and now ask yourself how fill "unnamed newbie" at server when he not able to kill any "old player" because of some "strange" lags..., and if he trying to use behemoth to do something useful.. referee kill him! great! , he tell: "fuck this game" and community continue dieing...

you tell me: this rule 6 works for many years... yes, only at evo server. and main savage developer evo_DJ was a creator of most powerful hacks Smile... so .. make a conclusions: this rule was for community interest or for cheaters interest?
