I don't mean to be impatient but I'm not sure why keeping kingdom closed makes things more secure in the long run. Why protect something if you can't use it? Imo the hackers have won when when a server is literally shut for a week.

Admin can explain more .. for sure he still close it for reason but better to inform us about UK status.

and if any expecting day to allow access ?

Groentjuh

The status updates would have be very useful for the hackers that had breached into the server. That's why I kept it pretty silent. The reason the UK server was closed is simple: The UK server contains a lot more that can hurt Newerth (think auth/stats database, Savage XR source-code etc etc etc.)

Given that information had, I kept it close until we fixed some issues to prevent this from happening although I am busy with trying out some more measures, so it might have some other weekend(s) of being closed!

On the server on which runs G&G there is a hell lot less to do and a lot less damage to cause. The most important fix is now rolled out, so refs got a working password and UK will be back after some short tests
