A question.. hey there,
I just wondered if it is allowed to "misuse" the intel u get from being spec in a way that u sac an unclosed shield at sh if u see that t1 is advancing and having shielded their fwd gar before sh(which wasnt attacked by anyone so far - so the enemy com doesnt know how it looks).
I just noticed doing toxic that several times against me(being t1 com), so i wondered if its against the rules - I m well aware that its hard to prove such a situation and i dont have a picture or demo of it, i just consider such a behaviour quite lame since its just kinda unfair =).
Well this remains just a question and not a complaint against toxic, who is known to behave lame very often(behe spawns etc.), i simply wondered about it =).

Hey mate,
Yea, I've seen toxic do that before, he specs how to sac a shield and then goes t2 and tries to do it. It might not be forbidden by the rules technically, but it's definitely an 'unfair advantage' and therefore I wouldn't allow him to do it. It's just hard to notice, as you can imagine, and toxic is pretty much the only one who does it.

we can always add that rule,
"if a ref feels that someone who as joined the team from spec, has gained an unfair advantage from speccing the other teams base/outpost then the ref can kick said player."
obviously written in a better way than that.

its pretty much impossible to prove. It obviously is lame though. Would it come under the switching teams rule?

It will be very hard to apply such a rule! You cannot really see the difference between a AFK player and such a 'spec-abuser' joining a team and your feeling is just not good enough to justify a kick. You can't just kick because you just felt he deserved it?! So I guess we'll just have to live with it.

How about if it's undeniably obvious that a player is doing this? For example they say in team chat they'll go spec and do this. I can't really think of any other examples! At least if its clear in the rules that this isn't allowed it might happen less. Although i don't think it happens very often anyways.

Hmm.. I saw such a case in last days. I agree with James If it is so obvious like .. guy in t2 joined spec for 10 seconds to check shield then he rejoined t2 and tried to sac it :/ Its actually kinda childish Just like checking cards of your opponent in poker But yeh.. ppl are different

I don't really think we need a specific rule for it. I'd just say it falls under this one:
Quote: 22. Referees will punish you if you break any of the rules or if you misbehaved in a way that might not be literally listed in the rules.

I think referee no need to worry about it...
It is public server... here many funny peoples ,
Toxic improving his sac skills, evo's walking with discharders only and not worry about any win.
everybody doing here what they want and not worry about any teamwin really: somebody killing orscores or chiprels with behe... somebody just jumping and so on...
so lame or childish is not a reason for refactivity.
impossible to make infinity number of rules... and control it for making good strategy game on pub server. and are we need it??
If you want real game- go and play clanwars or pug games.

Yeah but thats just one side of this thing.. Some people usually complain about it.. yeah complain to refs.. so refs can not ignore that. You know.. if you want to have a server with people which they would actually like to play there.. you need to keep game fair for them

It is objective opinion.
Try to be commander once and you will see, what Toxic-spectator-sacer is really not the main problem of public games.
